Consell de Formentera announces new 30 Sept. deadline on aid applications from local freelancers and SMIs

grafic_ajudesThe Consell de Formentera will extend the deadline on applications for Covid relief until 30 September, news that was confirmed in a notice published today in the Official Gazette of the Balearic Islands (BOIB). The €482,896 package of aid for self-employed islanders and those with small businesses makes good on an original pledge of€630,000 that was agreed between the island’s government and the Govern balear, who have promised to put up equal parts.

Relief checques range from €1,500 for market vendors to €7,000 for entrepreneurs with two establishments. Under the terms, applicants must have their workplace and tax domicile on Formentera and must either be current with municipal fees or have successfully applied for a deferral of payment.

So a maximum number of islanders can access the aid, and to clear up any questions from potential applicants, the Consell de Formentera has set up an information hotline at 971 32 10 87. Interested parties can apply Virtual Citizen Information Office (OVAC). Complete details and terms can also be viewed on the Consell de Formentera website.
