The Office of Sport of the Consell de Formentera is pleased to report that signups for summer swimming lessons at the municipal pool will start 12 June. Islanders interested in requesting information or registering can visit the Antoni Blanc sports centre Thursday 12 June to Friday 23 June.
From Monday 26 June, interested parties will be informed of available hours and days by telephone.
Classes will be held afternoons from Monday 3 July to Thursday 31 August, and preference will be given to children aged three to six.

The Ministry of Mobility of the Balearic Government has approved a 6.3% rise in cab fares on Formentera. Last April, at the request of the Formentera Taxi Association and backed by an associated economic study, members of the Consell de Formentera plenary unanimously approved a proposal to raise cab fares by 12.89%. The previous fare hike took place in 2019. The Ministry of Mobility, to which the proposal was submitted for endorsement, revised the increase to 6.3%.
The Office of Interior of the Consell de Formentera is pleased to report on an information day that took place at IES Marc Ferrer yesterday. The encounter was designed to help pupils at the secondary school understand the functions of the local police, to make sure they recognise its members as local figures, and to offer information to those interested in work on the force as a job option.
The lifeguards of the Consell de Formentera are continuing with a training course to improve care in emergencies. This week a course mixing theory and hands-on learning around medical care is being given to the new lifeguards who will join the service on Thursday 1 June. In addition, the Consell has announced it is accepting applicants to fill gaps in the current workforce. Four vacancies have been announced and applications can be submitted until 8 June.
