Yesterday morning, as August came to a close, so did activities at summer camps in Sant Francesc, Sant Ferran and la Mola. The day also marked the end of the 2017/2018 school year for students and staff at sa Miranda and es Camí Vell, the island's two escoletes (early-learning nurseries), and was the last day of scheduled activities in a summer programme aimed at making athletics fun.

Families came out in force for a range of summer's end activities, scenes of emotional encounters between educators, youth workers and participants' families. Every morning this summer, 580 children and young people turned up to participate in the programmes, a welcome display of the trust which households place in the Formentera Council.
