15 days, 2,000 metred parking pass renewed

foto 2021 zona blavaThe Formentera Department of Mobility (FDM) reports that in the first half of February roughly two thousand local motorists renewed passes to leave vehicles in pay-to-park spots. Including renewals since summer, a total of four thousand islanders can now park in metred spots at no charge, said FDM chief Rafael González.

Until Monday 22 February, metre attendants’ top priority will be to remind motorists to renew “blue and green zone” passes if they wish to continue parking for free in the painted spots.

Passes may be renewed on the OVAC by clicking on tràmits i gestions > llicències i permisos > Sol·licitud d'autorització / renovació d'autorització de zona blava – verda. Renewals can also be processed face to face at the Citizen’s Information Office (OAC). For additional inquiries, call the Consell at 971 32 10 87.

Formentera’s pay-to-park scheme was put on hold in March following declaration of emergency orders. The system was restored in July, but the Consell opted to extend free-parking rather than contend with a wave of summertime renewals overlapping with peak economic activity and parking demand. Automatic renewals ended at the start of February.
