Mobility chief Rafael González took part today in a meeting of the Balearic Land Transport Council that was co-chaired by Francina Armengol and Balearic mobility and housing minister Josep Marí Ribas and attended by representatives of other island councils and business leaders.
The Consell de Formentera and Govern balear agreed at the encounter to put up €17,250 to assist businesses and freelancers that offer occasional carriage services by bus, specialise in ground merchandise transport, work as taxi drivers, or operate as rent-a-car companies.
“In these days of pandemia and tumult in the land transport sector, these subsidies are extremely necessary and we couldn’t be happier that they’ve received industry approval. Now the challenge is to ensure people can access these funds easily”, said González.
