Centre de Dia reopens 1 June for one-on-one service by appointment

foto 2020 reobertura centre dia 1The Formentera Department of Social Welfare reports that starting Monday 1 June, the island’s daytime adult care centre will welcome islanders once again for one-on-one service by appointment.

Department chief Rafael Ramírez explained that with personalised service, priority would go to individuals most in-need — those with a higher degree of dependency and whose carers must work. Ramírez pledged local government would “always be on the side of our beneficiaries’ carers and family members” and saluted the efforts under confinement of Centre de Dia personnel.

Ramírez pointed out that “together with closing old persons’ clubs, suspending in-person care at the facility was among the first steps taken by the Consell, even before emergency orders were proclaimed”.

Support will continue over the phone and internet and with at-home service for those who cannot or prefer not to travel to the Centre de Dia.

In compliance with distancing measures under the state of emergency, capacity will be limited to 30%.

Upon entry, and in line with recommendations from public health authorities, all Centre de Dia visitors will be subject to a strict control of safety protocol, including hand washing, temperature check, face mask and adequate distancing. The Centre de Dia must provide any recommended protective gear.
