Formentera Film Lab "Para una gota"

Over the course of three days the association Formentera Art carried out a multimedia workshop whose goal was the creation of the opening video for the III Annual Formentera Film festival, employing in the process different techniques in animation.

4-, 5- and 6-year students participated in a series of activities facilitating creative expression through short animations. Techniques used included stop-motion with clay and newspaper cut-outs and digital animation based on the children's own drawings.

The complete animated production will form a puzzle, which will itself be the opening piece for the Formentera Film Festival projections. A backstage video explaining the students' creative process will also be presented.

The central idea is to allow participating children to use their own animation to play with the important topic that is water - an asset we all must share - and raising awareness regarding its proper use.

Formentera Art provided all the necessary material and technical supplies for the workshop, an educational opportunity that was completely free of charge.
