The Formentera Island Council wishes to announce the initiation of service for the newly-installed post office boxes to serve residents of Sa Talaiassa and Es Monestir in La Mola.

In view of the difficulty encountered by residents of certain remote corners of La Mola in receiving post at home, the administration has set in motion a new system of post collection that places a total of 216 post boxes at the disposition of area residents. The programme represents a significant improvement for residents who were until now obliged to travel to the Sant Francesc post office to obtain correspondence.

Participation in the new service is voluntary; anyone not wishing to register will continue to receive post at the Sant Francesc location.

Next Monday, 24 March, the registration period will open and interested residents will have until Friday, 11 April to request the service at the Citizen Information Office.

Once registration has closed, the Council will contact programme applicants in order to supply them with their post office box and access door keys and to complete the payment process.

Post office boxes will be provided one per family and beneficiaries of the service must present proof of 'empadronament' (town registry), a photocopy of their DNI (national ID card) and a one-time payment of 25€.

The service has been instituted in a new space located within the recently-completed Casa del Poble de la Mola, on Carrer Angela Ferrer (street), next to the El Pilar Cemetery.
