Salines Natural Park in Ibiza and Formentera
Ses Salines Natural Park is a group of terrestrial and marine habitats with ecological, landscape and cultural values of the first international order. This space is a key refuge for numerous aquatic and seabirds – both during nesting season and during migrations – and is home to a great diversity of endemic species of flora and fauna.
Among its biological richness, Posidonia oceanica stands out, a marine plant declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1999. Likewise, the presence of the thousand-year-old salt industry provides a unique landscape and history that integrates harmoniously with the natural ecosystems, being one of the main socio-economic and tourist assets of the island.
