The Counsellor of Culture, Sònia Cardona, together with aqualia's Head of Production in the Balearics, Damià Muñoz, and the Head of the Formentera Municipal Water Service, Maria del Mar Yern, along with the CP Mestre Lluís Andreu tutorial teacher, presented John J. Morales and Rocío Torres each with an educational puzzle of the world for coming in as finalists in the individual category of the tenth annual International Children's Drawing Competition organized by aqualia on the occasion of World Water Day.

For the contest's tenth year, a total of 29,000 entries were made by year three and four primary students from Spain, Portugal, the Czech Republic, Mexico and Chile. Of this figure 104 came from Formentera schools CP El Pilar and CP Mestre Lluís Andreu.

Award recipients captured in their drawings the importance of a careful use of our water supply, and it was entirely fitting for the theme of this – the tenth – edition of the competition: “An A+ for you, an A+ for the planet”. The goal was to impart in youth the importance of responsible water-use habits, central to conservation and sustainability.

Year three and four students from Formentera schools also participated in last year's competition, whose theme, “The future of water is shaping up nicely...because you're the one that's shaping it”, stressed the development and application of new technologies – some already available – that promote water-use in homes and cities that is more efficient and respectful of the environment.
