Formentera supports Livestock Farmers' Association in animal health and enhanced production systems

Ana Juan, President of the Consell de Formentera, and Juan Antonio Yern, president of the Livestock Farmers' Association [Associació de Ramaders, AR], have signed a collaboration agreement to support the island's livestock sector in animal health and improved production systems in 2022.

The Consell de Formentera will provide €37,000 for associated programmes and activities to benefit animal production and health. Under this agreement, AR pledges to support the Consell de Formentera in production, animal health and other actions related to the welfare and identification of livestock on farms which are affiliated with the Animal Health Defence Group [Agrupación de Defensa Sanitaria, ADS] and to oversee animal health actions agreed annually in the Common Animal Health Programme. AR, for its part, will continue working to educate the group's member farmers on individual actions. This agreement is annual.
