Formentera hosts workshop on linguistic assertiveness

The Directorate General of Language Policy of the Balearic Government and local chapter of Obra Cultural Balear, in collaboration with the Language Advisory Service of the Consell de Formentera, have organised a workshop on linguistic assertiveness on Formentera as part of "Move Your Tongue" (Mou la llengua). The event will be held 4 May, 5.00pm to 8.00pm at the Consell de Formentera conference room (sala d'actes).

Workshop participants will analyse the most common situations of discomfort expressing oneself in Catalan and will seek satisfactory solutions based on a strategic approach to social interactions. They will learn and practice behavioural resources aimed at helping speakers use Catalan more often and more comfortably.

The "Mou la llengua" campaign aims to promote the social use of the Catalan language and encourages using Catalan and sharing it with everyone, for example by starting conversations in Catalan with strangers or not switching to another language unnecessarily.
