Presenting Iolanda Bonet's "Crits de mar"

The Office of Culture of the Consell de Formentera is pleased to announce that Marià Villangómez library will host a presentation of Crits de mar, a collection of poetry by Iolanda Bonet. The presentation will be given by author and editor Ramon Mayol at 7.30pm on Thursday 28 April.

The publication is the 36th volume of "Ones de poesia", a digitally published collection from January 2013 which today, ten years later, is also available in print. This work brings together poetic reflections on the sea, an element which deliberately permeates the work of the Eivissa-born writer. "For reasons of pure rhythmical metrics, the sea sometimes appears in its feminine form and sometimes in its masculine form; 'En el buit', on the other hand, highlights perennially fraught perceptions around death and old age, while 'Isolats' deals with the loneliness that circumstances oblige", explains Bonet.

In the words of Ramon Mayol, who edited Crits de mar, "Bonet writes with freedom, her poetry carves out intervals that make catching one's breath impossible and creates expectation for what does not come. She seeks a symbolic place where there is only totally human hope and doubt".
