The Office of Environment of the Consell de Formentera is pleased to report efforts are now under way to remove posidonia from the beaches of Formentera. Operations started in Cala Saona and will continue on the beaches where the washed up seagrass is most prevalent.

As established in the Use and Management Plan (PRUG) of Ses Salines Park, posidonia may not be removed from park areas until 15 May.

The collected posidonia will be made available to the public. Interested parties can request a delivery through the Office of Environment or Virtual Citizen Information Office (OVAC), or by phone (971 32 12 10) or email (mediambient@conselldeformentera.cat). Transport of the material is free.
