Nine students begin training as youth leisure supervisors

foto 2020 curs formacioNine students will take part in a training course organised by the Formentera Entrepreneurism Department to prepare 16- to 29-year-old participants for employment as leisure supervisors.

Students will sign apprenticeship contracts and receive six months of additional on-the-job training in Consell de Formentera-run leisure centres.

Deputy Consell president and chief of the entrepreneurism office Ana Juan extended her welcome to participants and highlighted hopes the training would give a leg-up to individuals currently joining the local labour force.

Instructional costs and recrutement of the course director are funded by the vocational training and employment wing of the Balearic Employment Agency (SOIB) as part of a programme to make youth and adolescent recreational programmes more dynamic. A cross-cutting pedagogical approach means students will also finish the course with A2-level English accreditation.
