Two weeks of awareness-raising activities to mark World Refugee Day

This year, the immigration office of the Consell de Formentera is pleased to present an extensive program of activities to commemorate World Refugee Day on 20 June. Cinema, theatre, workshops for young people and families, discussion groups and a youth gymkhana are all part of the two-week programme that starts Wednesday 15 June on Formentera.

Rafael Ramírez, councillor of social welfare, encouraged islanders "to come out for a programme that is designed to show Formentera's solidarity with and empathy towards refugees". The councillor pointed out that "the current context of migratory crises requires a broad and decisive defence of human rights and vulnerable individuals".
