Social welfare offices move to Day Centre

This week the Formentera Office of Social Welfare (Conselleria de Benestar Social, CBSF) will begin relocating to new offices in a wing of the island's adult care facility. CBS departments are taking the move in turns and the hope is that next week all face-to-face service can be provided in the new offices.

Rafael Ramírez, Councillor of Social Welfare, explained that the new offices will mean "a better service for islanders" and "care that measures up" to local demand. "Formentera's social services are essential, which is why we have renovated this area of the Day Centre: to tailor it to needs, both for users and workers", said Councillor Ramírez.

Ramírez highlighted "CBSF's growth in recent years, both in terms of staff size and the scope of the care we provide". He also stressed that the move would "put Formentera's areas of social and health care into a single location". The coming months will also see the opening of a senior living residence and, if current plans are carried out, a centre focused on care for underage children. The change means CBSF will have new work spaces with greater comfort to be able to develop services.

New furniture and signage is also in the works, and an open day will be held when upgrades are complete.

CBSF can be reached by phone at 971 32 12 71.
